Marcela Uliano da Silva PhD student at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Biophysics Institute (2013-2017) with the project: "Sequencing the genome of the invasor mussel Limnoperna fortunei". Currently is Visiting Student Researcher at the Berlin Center for Genomics in Biodiversity Research (BeGendiv - http://www.begendiv.de/team_marcela_uliano/) Has great interest in bioinformatics, molecular biology, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, neurosciences and philosophy. Has a blog about science communication (in portuguese - improvisocientifico.blogspot.com) and has done a crowdfunding to partially fund her PhD project (www.catarse.me/genoma). Marcela is TED Fellow 2014.
